Where great dogs begin

ETOSHANNE KENNEL (established 2014)
The Etoshanne German Shepherd kennel was registered in 2014 with the GSD Federation of South Africa, producing 19 litters by 2024, with puppies registered with the ‘von Etoshanne’ suffix to their name.
A small but highly successful kennel focusing on the training, showing and breeding of long coat German Shepherds.

ETOSHANNE ETHOS (Happy, healthy, intelligent, family dogs with confidence)
The ethos of Etoshanne is to produce a happy, intelligent, healthy German Shepherd, with a sound confident temperament to be part of the family whilst providing protection.
Raising 19 litters, it became evident that important points to consider is the wellbeing of the mother and the puppy whilst still in the womb AND the first 8 to 10 weeks whilst growing up with the breeder, thereafter with the new owner, enabling the family to care for the puppy into adulthood the best possible way.

ACHIEVEMENTS (6 NBS Siegerin VA1 Titles, IGP2 title, Excellent Protection Awards)
Multiple achievements have been accomplished to date and recorded on the websites Achievements page.

CHANGE OF FOCUS (2026) – Imparting knowledge/experience and training advice on a new website - www.etoshanne.co.za - applicable to all breeds of dogs.
Starting the first quarter of 2026, the focus of Etoshanne is changing towards providing advice to the new breeder and the new puppy owner on how best to obtain the happy ‘obedient’ family dog that is both healthy and of sound temperament.
This existing website – www.etoshanne-german-shepherds.com – will continue as is and showcase the kennel’s dogs and future litters that might be bred (very limited litters planned).
The website – www.etoshanne.co.za is being developed to provide knowledge and training material (online videos, training literature and references) for both the new breeder and the new puppy owner. Many free videos will be posted, with a blog to answer any questions and an opportunity to subscribe to a newsletter providing valuable information and links to training sites using the Etoshanne principles. This website will be launched mid-April 2026 and applies to ALL breeds of dogs, not just the German Shepherd.
